    6th February, 2011  Message for all our entrants;

I am pleased to advise you that the Yorkshire in Bloom Executive Committee has reviewed the charging of £20 entrance fee for ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ entries and this decision has now been rescinded. I will be returning cheques, or arranging for cheques to be issued, to those who have already paid the entry fee.

For your information, I have also extended the closing date for all categories in the competition to midnight of the 14th February, 2011. If you would still like to enter the competition please do so by clicking on the link above.

1st December, 2010 the following letter will be posted out to entrants:

Dear Entrant,

YORKSHIRE IN BLOOM 2011 COMPETITION

Welcome to the 2011 competition. This year you will be able to enter the competition via our website; http://www.yorkshireinbloom.co.uk.  The entry forms are now available online. Unfortunately we do not have an online payment system so I have enclosed a returns slip and envelope for you to send in your payment. Please let me know if you require an invoice or receipt for your entry.

If you have not entered the Yorkshire in Bloom Competition in that last year or two we hope that you will consider submitting an entry for this current year as we feel there are considerable benefits for your community in being involved with Yorkshire in Bloom. The added benefits of more entries is that it may attract potential sponsors for our Region.

Yorkshire in Bloom would like to cut down on the use of paper and are continuing to encourage all entrants to use the online service.   We would also like to make more use of the email system and ask that you let us have your email details on the entry form. However, if you do not have accesses to the internet please contact me and I will send you the relevant forms and information to enable you to enter the competition.

When you complete your entry form there are a number of very important points that we would like you to check;

1.      Please ensure you have entered in the correct category and checked the Electoral Roll of your entry. To help you with this I have enclosed a copy of the ‘Categories, Entry Fees and Judging Allocation’ form   In order to ensure our entries mirror the Britain in Bloom categories we have also shown which Band the category will be in.

2.      The primary contact will receive all correspondence from Yorkshire in Bloom. The Secondary Contact is important for administration and to help the judges when arranging judging times and dates. These contacts will help you receive timely information from Yorkshire in Bloom.

3.      We have created a new category for Small Businesses see category 8Ba.

4.      There is now a charge for the It’s Your Neighbourhood entry.

The closing date for all entries will be the 4th February, 2011. It is important that when you submit multiple entry forms e.g., from category 1 – 5 plus entries from 6 – 12 such as a business or a
school, they are completed either online or by using the paper based form, with the relevant payments sent to me by the closing date. This will enable us to start allocating judges for all the
categories and save on administration time.

Due to lack of sponsorship, it will be necessary to charge entrants to attend the 2011 awards ceremony. We have taken on board the comments from entrants who kindly returned their
questionnaires at the end of the 2010 judging period and are in the process of sourcing possible venues and prices.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to wish you well in the competition, if you require any help please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to receiving your applications.

Yours sincerely,
