The 2011 Gardening Against the Odds awards
are launched. Please help us spread the word
The Conservation Foundation and The Sunday Telegraph has just launched Gardening Against the Odds. The awards honour those who have overcome physical and psychological difficulties to create gardens that bring joy to all those who see them, and we hope you can spread the word.
Anyone can nominate an individual or community group for the awards which are in honour of the much-loved writer Elspeth Thompson, below-right, who suffered depression and sadly died in March last year but who had always championed the small gardener and the unsung heroes of communities.
The winners of last years awards were honoured in March at Chiswick House, and nominations can be made for this years awards until September 16th. Anyone can nominate their self, friend, neighbour or deserving local group.
To enter and find out full details of the awards visit the Sunday Telegraph’s website at www.telegraph.co.uk/gardeningawards2011
