**Letter from the Yorkshire
in Bloom Executive Committee to all entrants**
Summer Judging 2007
As you are no doubt aware the summer
judging period is now well under way, it is taking place against the backdrop of
the worst June weather ever recorded making both the preparation and delivery of
a credible entry very difficult.
We, at Yorkshire
in Bloom would like to re assure all of you that all of our judges will be taking
into account the widespread difficulties many of you have encountered this year.
Nowhere has escaped the incessant deluge and strong northerly winds battering beds,
borders and baskets and causing resources to be diverted to more pressing tasks.
Yorkshire in Bloom prides itself on being
an all year round environmental campaign and as such the judging criteria takes
into account difficulties experienced by entries, indeed our judges this year have
been asked to look out for examples of how the community has faced up to the adverse
conditions, we will be making allowances for the worst hit areas.
This year hopefully is the exception,
and if you are in one of the flooded areas our thoughts are with you, for those
of you fortunate enough have escaped the worst of it but still feel your efforts
to enhance your area have been thwarted please be assured we will be taking everything
into account, and your efforts will not go unnoticed.
Many thanks
for all you do, and remember your community, no matter what the weather, always
appreciates your efforts.
